Nutcracker 2022 Costume and Hair Requirements

(for dress rehearsals and all performances)

 

 

Thank you for allowing your child to participate in this year’s Nutcracker.  In order for rehearsals and shows to run smoothly, parents and dancers need to follow these guidelines. NOTE:  Tights, shoes and nude camisole leotards  are available at Warnke’s Dancewear, the on-site dancewear shop in the lobby of Michele’s Dance Academy.

 

Act I

*** Hair must be done before you arrive at the theatre for your first role in the show - the Hair Committee does not have time to braid/curl your hair for your first role, they will help with your roles after your first one***

Party Scene Girls, Clara – pink or flesh colored footed tights, nude camisole leotard, clean pink ballet shoes, hair must be curled BEFORE you arrive at the theater or dress rehearsal.

Party Scene Boys, Fritz – pink or flesh colored footed tights, nude camisole leotard, black slip on jazz shoes, hair must be French braided and pinned up BEFORE you arrive at the theater or dress rehearsal.

Aunts, Mother, Nanny – pink or flesh colored footed tights, optional nude camisole leotard, black character shoes. 

Uncles, Father – black dress pants, black dress socks, black slip on jazz shoes or dress shoes.  

Soldiers – pink or flesh colored footed tights, nude camisole leotard, black slip on jazz shoes, hair must be in a bun on the very top of your head BEFORE you arrive at the theater or dress rehearsal.

Baby Mouse, Little Mice – pink colored footed tights, nude camisole leotard, pink ballet shoes, hair must be French braided and pinned up BEFORE you arrive at the theater or dress rehearsal.

Prince – black footed tights, black slip on jazz shoes.   Hair French braided and pinned up.

 

Act II

Bon Bons  –pink or flesh colored footed tights, pink ballet shoes.   Hair in two high ponytails (on each side of head)

 

No eating or drinking is allowed while wearing LCCB costumes. If you are found eating or drinking in your costume you will be fined $100.

 

If you have any questions regarding hair for the performances, please speak to Ms. Laura or Ms. Charlie Ann before the performances.  After the performances begin, you can speak to the hair committee.

 

If you have any questions regarding costumes, or what you should bring to wear under your costumes, please speak to Ms. Laura.

 

Thank you ahead of time for your cooperation. Without helpful parents Nutcracker would not be possible.

Act I

Ballerina Doll – pink footed tights, nude camisole leotard, hair slicked up in bun on back of head

Soldier Doll – pink footed tights (with black dress socks) or black footed tights and a nude leotard.   Hair French braided and pinned up.

Rodentia – ALL – nude camisole leotard, black character shoes, black footed tights or black socks over pink or flesh colored tights, hair in low bun

­Nutcracker – nude camisole leotard, black slip on jazz shoes, black footed tights or black socks over pink or flesh colored tights, hair in French braids or very low, flat bun

Snowflakes – nude camisole leotard, white trunks, clean pancaked pointe shoes or clean ballet shoes, hair in low bun

 

Act II

Chocolate – pink convertible tights, clean pancaked pointe shoes, nude camisole leotard, hair in center bun

Coffee – pink convertible tights, nude leotard, clean pointe shoes, hair in long ponytail braid down back

Marzipan – flesh colored convertible tights, nude leotard, clean ballet shoes, hair in center bun

Trepak – pink or flesh colored convertible tights, red boots (provided), hair in center bun

Waltz – pink or flesh colored convertible tights, hair in center bun

Dew Drop – pink or flesh colored convertible tights, clean pancaked pointe shoes, hair in center bun, pink trunks
